Description
The Haitian Alliance Nurses Association International (HANA-I) is a non-profit 501(c)3 nursing organization incorporated in 2018 in the state of Florida.
HANA-I is comprised of 11 independent nursing associations entitled Haitian American Nurses Association (H.A.N.A). Core membership chapters are HANA of Florida, HANA of Hudson Valley, HANA, Inc., Greater New York, HANA of New Jersey, HANA of Georgia, HANA of Maryland, HANA of Illinois, HANA of Tampa, HANA of Orlando, HANA of Garden State and HANA of Palm Beach. HANA-I also has several affiliations in Haiti and Canada. HANA-I has a core of elite nurse experts, with a variety of specialties in nursing, such as nursing management/administration, academia, oncology, mental health, case management, critical care, nursing research, pediatrics, public heath, and maternal and child health, with a myriad of nursing certifications and an array of degrees from LPN, associate to doctoral prepared.
HANA-I members are affiliates of the Advanced Nurse Practice Association, National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), Oncology Nursing Society, American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. The chapters within HANA-I have successfully collaborated, planned, and executed six annual leadership conventions. HANA-I has a taskforce team dedicated to address the COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on mental health, professional development, and policy reforms.
