We listen closely to the stated needs of our partner programs in Haiti - our goal is not to lead from above but, rather, to walk with our partner programs.
Long Term Plan
We would like to see music programs in every department of the country. As BLUME Haiti strengthens, expands, increases, and develops the music education ecosystem in Haiti, we want to offer more support in the areas named above. There are 5 Haitians on our board and we are in the process of starting an advisory council of Haitian music school directors and another of students in music programs there.

Description
Launched in 2012 as a response to the catastrophic 2010 earthquake, BLUME Haiti partners with close to 50 music programs, large and small, urban and rural, established and emerging, located in nine of Haiti's ten departments and serving about 5,000 young musicians. We support professional development for teachers, student development, partner development, special initiatives such as instrument repair and the Haitian orchestra Institute along with health and welfare assistance.
A2021 ABRSM International Sponsorship Fund recipient
Singing for Change Foundation grants from 2012-2020 (this stopped because of the pandemic)
Naperville Rotary Club grants to fund purchase of tools and supplies to repair band instruments and more
Weaknesses
At the moment we have no staff though we hope to hire soon a Program Manager who will serve as our liaison to music programs and an Instrument Repair Technician who will travel throughout the country to teach basic repair techniques so that programs in the countryside can maintain their stock of instruments.
